Our Darling Carburg Blazing Jewel
told by her mum Carol
There are many tales to tell about Jewel .. she was that sort of Gal .. always up to something and always had that smile .. but this is the best tale ever.

Jewel loved her sweetheart Allen and her favourite vehicle the F100 truck .. this is about one trip they had together.

Allen and Jewel travelled together always .. from the Gem Fields to the farm .. even out on rabbit shooting trips .. visiting Allens friends and home to see us when they could .. these pair had a beautiful life
of companionship .. friendship and love together. In fact as I watched them together .. some times I wondered who Allen loved the most .. was I jealous? .. how could I be .. this couple were made for each other .. a match made in heaven I would say. Jewel on the passengers seat
Get this big rig started Dad Allen is a shift worker in one of the mines so on days off it was a trip to see us in town and to do the weekly shopping .. Allen tried on many occasions to leave the farm without Jewel because of the heat but before he could get into the car Jewel was there in the passenger seat.
Allen gave up trying to leave her behind so always allowed her to take that trip to the BIG supermarket .. Jewel was always ahead of him anyway so he had buckleys chance of keeping Jewel out of the passenger seat .. Allen had to find a big shady tree to park vehicle under when they did the shopping so Jewel didn't get too hot while he was getting the supplies .. always filling the water bucket incase she got thirsty .. this girl had it all.

A month before Jewels death she came home to spend some time with me while Allen went on a deep sea fishing trip .. although she was happy to be in town with me she never stopped watching and waiting for Allen's return .. when Allen did come home they spent the night and set off back to the property early the next morning with a huge esky of fresh fish packed in ice .. now the shopping had to be done on the way home and it was stinking hot.
Allen found a shady tree and removed the lid from the esky so Jewel could get a drink if she go thirsty .. but on Allen's returned he found Jewel missing .. panic set in .. searching quickly through the vehicle .. he looked up and there she was .. in the esky .. laying over the block of ice sound asleep .. now who says a girl can't find a cool spot to sleep on a hot day. Jewel was that kind of staffy always bringing laughter to us all with her funny ways .. she will be missed beyond words.
